Our Story

Good design should serve the people who live with it, not simply impress the people who pass through.

Based in Pretoria and working across South Africa, we are a boutique studio that takes on a small number of projects each year.

That choice is deliberate. It allows us to give each client and each space the full attention it deserves.

Design Philosophy

We design from the inside out.

Before we talk about materials, finishes, or furniture, we ask how you use your home. How you move through it. What it needs to do for you on an ordinary Tuesday, not just on the day of a dinner party.

That thinking shapes everything. The result is a space that functions quietly and beautifully in the background of your daily life.

Lesedi Mthimunye founded Design Innovations on a belief in human-centred design and craftsmanship, drawing on a considered blend of spatial planning, material expertise, and an honest approach to budgets and timelines.

03Honest about budgetsWe ask for a real budget and design within it, making it work as hard as possible rather than encouraging unnecessary spend.
04Tested against real homesEvery product we specify and finish we recommend has been proven on real projects, with a trusted network of craftspeople across Gauteng.
